Meet Samantha. A fun loving beautiful 11 year old girl, who is currently in the fight for her life. Samantha, like thousands of other children, was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic life-threatening disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Those affected are constantly battling a thick mucus that builds up around their lungs, pancreas, and other organs. This mucus clogs the airways by trapping bacteria leading to infections, lung damage, and over time.. respiratory failure. There is no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, but treatment can help. Samantha is currently on 32 medications, and has undergone multiple surgeries, and will have to undergo more. Specifically a double lung transplant.
Due to the high complication of Samantha's surgery, and her current state, the hospital where Samantha has made a home at in Florida, advises the family to go out of state to perform the surgery. Options include hospitals in North Carolina, St. Louis, Houston, and Boston. Any one of these hospitals chosen will mean that the whole family will have to pick up and relocate. An emotional, physical and and also very expensive feat.
Samantha's father, Billy, has reached out to myself, and others trying to spread the word of his daughter's cause. I just fell in love with the sweet girl, who I only knew through photos. A member of Samantha and Billy's community created a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for this sweet girl's medical costs as well as the family's moving expenses.

At the beginning of the season, we invited Samantha and her family to attend the Daytona 500. Needless to say, they had a blast! Samantha even made her a Hamlin t-shirt :)
Samantha and her family meeting Denny at the race in Daytona.
After Denny's win in Chicago, we sent her a signed Victory Lane hat, as well as a manicure set. :) Hey, a girl's gotta get her nails done!

The goal of this post is to raise money for this little girl and her family in need. Samantha is a true warrior at heart, but needs the funds to keep on fighting!!! I truly believe in the power of social media, and I believe that in numbers we can help this little girl and her family get the care they need. They have been through so much, so the least we could do is help spread the word and donate to help alleviate the financial burden they are soon to face. So please share this post and donate if you can, anything is appreciated!!
Also, let me know if you donate with a tweet or Instagram comment and please use the hashtag, #Pray4Sam. I will retweet every one I see! Let's make a difference.
