What I Wore: Richmond

I realize this blog is more than a little past due. I want to apologize because I have been somewhat neglectful of my entire blog lately, but it definitely is not on purpose. Trying to juggle work, family, and home life can be challenging at times, so it's hard to find the time in the day (or night for that matter) to sit and write. Because of a packed schedule, my blog has unfortunately been suffering the consequences, but sometimes other things have to come first. I do love my blog, and the people that read it. Especially those that look forward to what I post. So thank you to my weekly readers, you are the reason I do this! I promise to start posting better content more often. I am in the process of giving my blog a mini facelift, so any suggestions on topics, style, or just generic suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Anyways... back to the post.. sorry just had to get that off my chest. Where we were? Ahh yes, What I wore at Richmond. So a few weeks ago, I wore this lil number pictured above. I was really excited to wear it, and received lots of questions on where I got some pieces. Especially my shoes. I even got a compliment from Michael Waltrip's Dancing with the Stars partner, Emma Slater! Btw, y'all better VOTE for them tonight!!! See below for what I wore, and how you can score the same look!

My top and pants were both from Page 6 Boutique! I love how simple yet sexy this tank is. It's a beautiful navy color, and has a very effortless feel about it. It is actually on SALE too for $20, and looks great tucked in these chevron print pants. I actually got my pants hemmed. In the store they didn't fit quite right for my body shape, but I loved the pattern so much, I got them anyway. I'm a BIG believer in getting clothes altered to fit your body, style, and personality. Being 5'3", the pants looked a lil MC Hammer on me. On a girl that was 5'8" they would have been really cute. But just not me, so I had a vision to make them high waisted and cropped, and voila! I had my own custom, one of a kind pants! Which I highly recommend.

My shoes were also a big hit. The color combo of the navy tank and the hot pink shoes were  a match made in heaven with the patterned pants! These are some of my favorite shoes, and guess where I got them from?? Victoria's Secret of all places! I swear they have the best shoes. But unfortunately they are no longer on sale!! WAHHHH! Bring them back!! But I did find some great dupes. See below:

I wish I got a full length picture of the entire look at the race, but didn't, so here are a couple I took while I was packing.

Overall, I loved this look, especially my lil nugget who looked most adorable as well! What do you think of this look? Let me know with a comment below!

  1. I love that you hemmed the pants to work with your height. I am about the same height and find that most things like this look better on a much taller person. I'll have to remember this idea :)

  2. I'm ecstatic that you'll be blogging more. This is one of my favorite blogs to visit. Product reviews are always my favorite articles written in blogs. I'm always on the look out for something new to try or something that may be better than what I've been using. Favorite purchase that month and/or steal of the month (for some reason I always get so excited when I find a gem that's marked down!) would be neat. Also, with NYC fashion wrapped up, have you thought about doing a review of the catwalk trends? Looking forward to upcoming posts!
