Giving Thanks

I love this time of year. Thanksgiving week is the perfect time of year to reflect, give thanks, and appreciate all that God has provided. This year especially, I'm feeling extremely blessed. The birth of our daughter was hands down the best day of my life. And now with the birth of my nephew on the horizon, life can only get better...

A little over a year and a half ago, I was at a time in my life that I didn't feel I was achieving my full purpose or calling in life. I prayed that God would show me what it was I was supposed to do. In my mind, being pregnant and having a child wasn't one of them. But obviously God had different plans for me. And he couldn't have been more right. I can't even begin to explain how truly lucky and blessed I am. I have the best job in the world. I don't make any money at what I do, but what I do have is a joy that can never be replaced. I work for a little person who can't even form sentences, let alone words, but I love her more than life itself. Being a mother isn't easy. It's challenging, hard work, and at times, can definitely test my patience. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. It is the most rewarding and fulfilling role I could have ever dreamed of. And I thank God every single day for employing me with the best job in the entire world. Taylor's Mom.

What are you thankful for this year? Leave a comment below, and I will pick my favorite for a special giveaway! Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. I'm thankful for my brother-in-law. He my sister, and their two boys live in Germany and he is being deployed to Afghanistan for the holiday season. I'm thankful for all the brave men and women who sacrifice their lives and time for us so we can celebrate this beautiful holiday season.

  2. I'm thankful for my boyfriend and his wonderful family. See, I had been sick for over twelve years, and in January I was hospitalized for nearly four months because I was severely malnourished. I had two surgeries and ended up losing my colon. Surgeons in Charlotte were unable to successfully finish the series of surgeries required for me to live a somewhat normal life. So, I was sent to Chapel Hill. There, I found an amazing doctor who was willing to atleast try to give me the chance to be healthy again. My family doesn't have much money, so I was going to have to postpone the surgery. My amazing boyfriend and his family made all the payments I needed to proceed. He stayed in the hospital with me for the entire two weeks I was there. I am still healing, but this is the first Thankgiving I can remember where I can eat and not get sick. I am such a lucky girl. :)

  9. We have 2 boys with autism. They are a challenge, but also give me the most joy and are very rewarding. Being able to hug, kiss them and have a conversation with them is such a blessing. It sometimes is just the little stuff, that other people take for granted. I am most thankful for my husband. He is active duty Air force and he help keeps me tremendously with patience is an amazing Dad. Without his support I could not be going back to school to get my Masters to give my boys a better future. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Denny, Taylor, Mary Lou, James and your entire family! Thank you for sharing in why I am so thankful today!

  12. I am thankful for all the wonderful surprises 2013 has offered me. I graduated from USC in 2012 and put all my concentration into finding a job in Charlotte. I was so focused on getting a job that I almost lost sight of everything else around me until the end of April when I found out I was expecting a little one with my longtime boyfriend. We had talked about marriage and babies, but that wasn't planned for another 5+ years so we were very shocked. We ended up getting engaged on Mother's Day and have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little girl who is due January 9th, which is my little brother's birthday.

The surprise rocked my world at first because I had so many other plans in store for my life before having a baby, but right now only 5 weeks away from our little girls due date, I wouldn't change it for anything. Our little girl will be 10 months younger than my sister's second child who was born in March. I can't wait for them to grow up together and to be the best of friends.

I am so thankful for my supportive family, friends and my fiance and our little bundle of joy on the way!
